ABOUT US
URUGUAYAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION
The UAF is a non-profit organization established in 1990 in Washington DC by Uruguayan immigrants residing there. Its mission is to help the less fortunate children of Uruguay in areas of education and health. For such purposes, the foundation organizes charitable activities in the Washington DC metropolitan area and it also accepts donations from all over the world, including Uruguay.
MISSION
The UAF is about helping the less fortunate of Uruguay in the areas of education and health.
VISION
To motivate Uruguayans, US. nationals, friends and collaborators from all our Latin American countries and countries from around the world, to help improve the less fortunate of Uruguay through our projects and fundraising events.
To partner with foundations such as the Global Environment Facility and the International Foundation to help us with these projects.
EDUCATION
Providing books, desks and chairs to rural school children.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Improving basic services of rural schools in Uruguay.
COMMUNITY
Helping change the lives of children and their families through sponsored events.

Con profundo pesar les comunicamos el fallecimiento de nuestro querido Presidente Andrés McAlister. Hoy perdimos un gran amigo, un líder que nos inspiró a trabajar por esta causa tan noble. Así queremos recordarlo, invitándonos a participar de los eventos y a apoyar a Uruguay. Que en paz descanses Andrés, nos dejás un gran vacío pero recuerdos hermosos de momentos vividos y nunca te vamos a olvidar.

It is with a heavy heart that our dear President Andrés McAlister has passed away. Today we lost a friend, a great leader that inspired us to work for this noble cause. This is how we want to remember you, when inviting us to one of our fundraising events for Uruguay. Rest in peace Andrés, you leave us with awesome memories spent together and we will never forget you.
